Types of Events

SSISY hosts and takes part in many events within the community.

Abbotsford Nagar Kirtan

A Nagar Kirtan is a Sikh Parade in which the community comes together to celebrate Vaisakhi and enjoy free food. SSISY participates in this annual event by having a team of 60 people prepare and serve over thousands of individuals who stop by our tent.

Free Beverages & Snacks on Canada Day 

On July 1st, SSISY takes part in the Abbotsford Canada Day Parade by providing refreshing beverages and snacks to performers and the community.

Christmas Mugs Donation

Each December, SSISY donates festive mugs topped with goodies and kind messages to individuals at the Communitas Supportive Care Society Christmas Dinner. The dinner is put on for those who would otherwise spend Christmas day alone.

Cops for Cancer

In collaboration with the Abbotsford Police Department and the Canadian Cancer Society, SSISY leads a Cops for Cancer event where organizations and entertainment services can come together to raise funds. SSISY has raised over $22,000 for pediatric cancer research and support programs, such as Camp Goodtimes, a camp for children who have been impacted by cancer.
